The theater’s doors opened on September 4th, 1900. The high artistic level of its performances has allowed the Lviv National Opera and Ballet to become the first Ukrainian theater to join the international music association Opera Europa (2008) and UNESCO’s International Dance Organization (2017). Today the theater’s repertoire includes nearly five hundred operas, operettas, ballets and concert programmes, from classic works to Ukrainian composers (D. Bortnyansky, M. Lysenko, Yu. Maytus, M. Skorik, J. Stankovich, I. Nebesny).

The world of beasts - characters of this story - is very similar to human society, where the struggle for existence prevails. This is a story about Mykyta, a cunning fox that always comes out unscathed despite an inexorable force of difficult circumstances, thanks to his sharpness and agility. The opera performance amazes with beautiful sounds of cymbals, bandura, lyre, remarkable stage design, bright costumes, as well as the use of 3D projection and lighting. The show will undoubtedly appeal to both adults and children, as humor is fused with relevant social issues.
