Ukrainian wine producer SHABO won gold medals at the most influential tasting competition Decanter World Wine Awards 2021. It should be noted that for the first time in the history of national winemaking, two wines from Ukraine won gold medals at once.

Ukraine at the tasting competition in London was represented by four wine companies. The national winemakers have replenished the collection of awards of the "Brand of Ukrainian Wine" with 29 medals at once.

Despite the great competition, Chardonnay SHABO Grande Reserve 2015 and Cabernet SHABO Grande Reserve 2017 received 95 points out of 100 from the expert jury of the competition.

Colour: Deep ruby ​​red

Aroma: The bright aroma is revealed by perfectly balanced shades of ripe fruits, such as: black currant, raspberry, cherry. Elegant oak notes of exposure.

Taste: The bright taste is revealed by shades of black and red ripe fruits. Well balanced with a long aftertaste and excellent tannins.

A limited collection of aged natural still wines. Aging in oak barriques - at least 9 months. Each item is from 2000 to 5000 bottles per season. In terms of style, the wines are referred to as "terroir", which have undergone the aging process in French oak barriques - at least 9 months and additional aging in bottles.

Colour: Light straw with a slight golden tinge.

Aroma: Aromas of peach, citrus, sea buckthorn, quince, which are perfectly balanced with elegant oak notes.

Taste: Fresh, mineral, harmonious, with a pleasant roundness and long aftertaste

The wines of the SHABO Grande Reserve collection are created from grapes of French varieties, the vines of which were carefully selected for the soils of the Shabo terroir, purchased in Europe and planted on mini-plots of high quality soils.

170 world wine experts, almost two weeks of blind tastings, 18,000 wines from 56 countries - this is it, one of the largest wine competitions in the world. According to the organisers, this year they received the largest number of wine samples!

And they did not have any information about the manufacturer and the brand. They then compared the reviews of the wine and passed a verdict on the awards. To get gold, the "contestants" passed the tasting again.

"SHABO announces the" Brand of Ukrainian Wine "at this competition for the eighth time. Each time we brought high indicators. But the current result is historical for us. And this is confirmed by the assessments of the world community. Getting gold at such an influential tasting competition as the Decanter World Wine Awards is another confirmation that the Great Wine of Ukraine already exists.

We will add that Ukraine brought 29 awards from the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021, which allows Ukraine to declare itself to the world as a wine country. SHABO received 16 awards.
