Ukrgasvydobuvannya (UGV), part of the Naftogaz Group, has launched a well with a production rate of 170,000 cubic meters of gas per day after implementing simultaneous-separate operation (SSO) technology. UGV reported this on its Facebook page.
Thanks to SSO, UGV managed to increase natural gas production at the well by 100,000 cubic meters per day. Before the technology was implemented, the well produced 70,000 cubic meters per day, the company said.
"The success of the project was preceded by an analysis of the geological model of the field, a detailed calculation of all risks, and the preparation of a set of effective geological and technical measures. Then it was decided to increase gas production rates through the installed dual-lift tubing scheme using specialized equipment for well completion. This technology allowed for the development of an additional reservoir, thus increasing gas production from this well," noted Acting General Director Serhii Lahno.
The company noted that SSO technology has been successfully applied to Ukrgasvydobuvannya’s facilities since the beginning of this year.
"Since the commissioning of wells using SSO technology, additional production by the end of the current year will amount to over 50 million cubic meters of gas," UGV added.
In September, it was reported that Ukrgasvydobuvannya increased the production rate fivefold to over 100,000 cubic meters of gas per day after hydraulic fracturing of the well.
