Ukroboronprom has opened its first foreign representative office to coordinate international projects in the United States.
This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
"Today, the 75th NATO Summit opened in Washington. One of the key topics is support for Ukraine. And today, on the sidelines of the Summit, we opened the first foreign representative office of JSC 'Ukroboronprom' – an office in Washington, USA," said the minister.
According to Kamyshin, the main task of the representative office is to facilitate the implementation of joint Ukrainian-American defense projects, interact with local businesses and government bodies, and negotiate the transfer of military technologies.
The opening of the Washington office of Ukraine's largest defense holding is expected to deepen the cooperation between the Ukrainian defense industry and the American one, enhancing integration into NATO's defense-industrial base.
Recently, representatives of the Ministry of Strategic Industries reported that Ukrainian companies have agreements with two unnamed American companies for the joint production of 155-mm shells.
Specifically, in June, it was revealed that American defense giant Northrop Grumman will establish ammunition production in Ukraine.
"This is our first project funded by 'Ukrainian dollars.' We plan to expand this to tank ammunition, 155 mm shells, and others as we find innovative processes," said Dave Bartell, Director of International Business for Northrop's Defense Systems sector.
Additionally, Ukraine, in cooperation with the United States, has managed to modernize its anti-aircraft missile systems under the FrankenSAM project by integrating them with American-made missiles.
It is known that as part of the modernization program, a certain number of Ukrainian Buk-M1 systems were adapted for RIM-7 missiles in the United States, which have already returned and are being used by the Armed Forces.
