The Polish energy group UNIMOT plans to expand its operations in Ukraine by entering the electricity sector, CEO and founder Adam Sikorski said during a Polish-Ukrainian business breakfast in Kyiv, according to enkorr.
Among the planned projects are the construction of a solar power plant, an energy storage system, and the restoration of damaged energy infrastructure as part of international initiatives.
Implementation in Ukraine will be handled by one of the group’s subsidiaries, UNIMOT Ukraine.
“I believe that now is the right time to invest in Ukraine,” Sikorski said.
During the event, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Eco-Optima, a major renewable energy solutions provider. A joint venture is expected to be established by the end of the year.
In addition to its presence in the oil products market, UNIMOT is also an active player in Poland’s electricity and natural gas sectors and supplies energy equipment.
