In Russia, the terms of training new infantry units are significantly shortened, and the release of professional military personnel is accelerated. This was reported by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitsky, on the Security Talks project by Apostrophe TV channel.

In the Russian army, the training periods for units formed from scratch are being reduced. Specifically, infantry soldiers are trained in 27 days, including individual training, unit training, and combat coordination.

"Currently, the ground component of the enemy on our territories consists of about 474 thousand military personnel. Before the beginning of 2024, this figure ranged from 450 to 460 thousand military personnel. There is an increase, but it's through the formation of so-called reserve regiments and the introduction of additional units," Skibitsky said.

Furthermore, Russia is expediting the release of skilled military personnel such as artillerymen, tankers, etc. This is achieved through early graduation and financial incentives for course completion. However, the main number of losses for the enemy is in regular infantry.

Additionally, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, 80% of the equipment used by Russian troops in the infantry is either restored or modernized, with only 20% being new tanks, BMPs, armored personnel carriers, artillery systems, etc. This amounts to no more than 200 new tanks produced in Russia per year.
