President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he hopes to return 1,200 servicemen from Russian captivity.
He made this statement in his evening video address on Telegram.
“There was a report from the Ukrainian negotiation team after returning from Turkey. I am very grateful to the guys for this work. Regarding further exchanges, I really hope we will manage to bring more of our warriors back from captivity. There is an agreement that 1,200 warriors will return. We also remember civilians. We remember everyone who needs to be brought home to Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
The head of state also thanked everyone who is helping the Ukrainian delegation in negotiations regarding the return of military personnel and civilians from Russian captivity.
“I thank everyone who helps us. Our representatives who were in Turkey, at the meeting with the Russians, once again proposed to the Russian side a real ceasefire: immediate and complete. They also proposed a meeting of leaders to truly make a decision for peace. Ukraine is ready to work as quickly and productively as possible,” he emphasized.
