The National Agency of Ukraine for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has launched a database of artworks associated with Russians subject to sanctions. This section is named "War and Art." The NAPC states that despite sanctions, Russian oligarchs can still easily hide and launder their assets through art objects. The "War and Art" section aims to prevent sanctions evasion, locate art assets of sanctioned Russians for freezing, confiscation, and eventual transfer to Ukraine.

Currently, the database contains information about over 300 items. Among the owners of these art assets are rapper Timur Yunusov (Timati), billionaire Vyacheslav Kantor, model Daria Zhukova, and other individuals who are under sanctions due to their direct support of Russia's war against Ukraine.

The "War and Art" section will contribute to preventing sanctions evasion and locating art assets of sanctioned individuals for the purpose of freezing, confiscating, and transferring these assets to Ukraine.

The information presented in this section is gathered from open sources. Data regarding the value and owners of art objects may change and be updated during the verification process. Typically, sanctioned entities try to conceal their ownership of such assets. The process of updating information is complex because there are no official records of direct art owners. The formal owner could be their relatives, or ownership may change multiple times in short periods.

The "War and Art" section is currently being populated and refined, and soon filtering functions and categorization features will be added.

It's worth noting that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the National Agency of Ukraine for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and other institutions have been working on forming sanctions lists of Russians involved in the war against Ukraine.
