The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, is currently taking place in Melbourne. Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, in the third round of the competition, defeated the 27th seed, American Emma Navarro, with a score of 6:2, 2:6, 6:1.
The match lasted for 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Yastremska's opponent in the round of 16 will be determined in the clash between Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko (seeded 11th) and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (seeded 18th).
This marks Yastremska's first entry into the fourth round of the Australian Open, and she has matched her best Grand Slam result achieved in 2019 at Wimbledon.
The Australian Open 2024 will continue until January 27th.
