The 49th rotation of the permanent monitoring mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) took place at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant.
This was reported by the press service of Energoatom.
"A new group of observers, including representatives from Nigeria, Armenia, Poland, and Namibia, has started work at the Rivne NPP site. They replaced the previous team of experts from Japan, Bulgaria, and Finland, who completed their three-week mission," the statement reads.
During the introductory meeting with the plant’s management and representatives of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, the international experts reviewed the current operation of the Rivne NPP’s power units, discussed nuclear and radiation safety issues under martial law, and received the findings of their predecessors.

Over the next three weeks, the IAEA team will continue monitoring compliance with international nuclear and radiation safety standards, observing the implementation of the seven fundamental principles of nuclear safety, and assessing the condition of the infrastructure at the Rivne NPP site.
The press service emphasized that the continuous presence of IAEA representatives at Ukrainian nuclear power plants remains an important element of international oversight and a guarantee of transparency in the operation of nuclear energy facilities. It confirms the high level of safety in plant operations and Ukraine’s openness to cooperation with the international community.
