Augmented Pixels, Inc a Palo Alto, CA based developer of proprietary simultaneous localization and 3D mapping technologies, closed a $ 2 million funding round from current and new investors and completed the development of indoor navigation, earth-scale 3D mapping and cloud localization technologies. The company has raised a total of $ 7 million since 2015.

In 2019, despite a leading position in real-time SLAM in the robotics and AR/VR markets, Augmented Pixels decided to shift its development focus towards earth scale 3D mapping and localization on a cloud. This shift in strategy was undertaken to address the much larger $ 60 billion + global mapping market and has been met with increased interest from potential customers across a broad spectrum of industires.

Moreover, Augmented Pixels’ basic SLAM technology allows the company to create more accurate maps than competitors, as well as deliver a complete solution from SLAM to mapping on any platform.
