The number of people killed in a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack on the Kyiv overnight has risen to 11, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Monday morning.
According to Klitschko, one of the injured victims died in hospital early in the morning. A total of 46 people were injured, including 27 hospitalized and three children among them. Authorities noted that casualty figures may still be updated as rescue work continues.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that at least 15 residential buildings were damaged across the capital. Emergency crews continue search-and-rescue operations, including at a partially destroyed nine-story building in the Podilskyi district, where floors between the 5th and 9th levels collapsed.

Rescuers are also working at multiple sites in the Podilskyi, Darnytskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts, while firefighters are extinguishing fires in warehouse facilities in the Obolonskyi district.
The hardest-hit areas were the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts. In Podilskyi, part of a residential building was destroyed, while in Darnytskyi fires broke out in high-rise buildings, damaging apartments across several floors. Shockwaves from the blasts also damaged nearby homes and destroyed parked vehicles.
Earlier in the morning, officials reported varying casualty figures as rescue teams searched through debris, with the death toll first estimated at nine and later revised upward.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into what Ukrainian authorities describe as a war crime under Article 438 of the Criminal Code. Officials say Russian forces carried out a combined missile and drone strike targeting civilian infrastructure.
Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities warn that the final number of victims may still change as rubble is cleared and additional information becomes available.
