Russian forces decided to simulate a strike on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant using drones. They attempted to blame Ukrainian defenders for this.

This was reported by a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, during a telethon.

He said that there is now a new wave of provocations from Russia regarding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. There is nothing new in this. The purpose of such provocations is to accuse Ukraine.

Yusov reminded that it was the Russians who occupied the Zaporizhzhia NPP and deployed troops and equipment there, replaced the territory of the station, and regularly carry out launches of strike drones there.

"Today (Russia) decided to simulate an alleged shelling using FPV drones supposedly from Ukraine. Ukraine's position is unequivocal - we do not take any actions or provocations against nuclear facilities. The aggressor must leave the nuclear power plant," added the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

Recall that on April 7, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that a drone exploded on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. At the same time, the IAEA recorded at least three hits on the protective shell of the station's reactor.

In turn, the Russians began to accuse Ukrainian defenders of the attack. The Russian forces claimed a "series of attacks" on the Zaporizhzhia NPP, as a result of which there were allegedly injuries and a damaged truck.

In Energoatom, in response to such fantasies of the Russian Federation, they stated that the accusations against Ukraine are Moscow's attempt to conceal its own intentions.
