The Odessa Sea Port has launched DocPort, a digital platform designed to automate port operations. Developed by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), the innovative solution is now operational in one of the country’s key ports, following successful implementation in the ports of Reni, Izmail, and Chornomorsk.
DocPort enables electronic document exchange among all players in the logistics chain — port authorities, operators, freight forwarders, carriers, and state agencies. This reduces vessel and cargo processing time, minimizes paperwork, and increases operational transparency.
Key benefits for businesses include:
-
Time savings of 1 to 6 hours per vessel
-
Faster issuance of departure documents
-
Transparency through digital signatures of responsible parties
-
Increased port throughput by 3–5% without additional infrastructure investment
-
The ability to connect new participants via an open API
The platform also manages vehicle entry queues, helping to eliminate congestion. Moreover, DocPort is integrated with Ukraine’s “Single Window for International Trade” system, significantly reducing vessel idle time without cargo operations.
The next step in the digital transformation will be the launch of DocPort’s maritime module at the Pivdennyi port in June–July 2025. This module will facilitate electronic data exchange between maritime agents and onshore services.
DocPort is a Ukrainian product developed by the USPA team. The system is offered free of charge and demonstrates how a state agency can create effective digital solutions to advance logistics.
