Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) reported striking the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara region. The SBS Telegram channel reported the attack on Sunday morning.
"During the night of July 12, operators of the 1st Separate Center and the 414th Brigade ‘Birds of Madyar’, in cooperation with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region.
The Syzran Oil Refinery is one of Rosneft’s largest refineries and a key enterprise in the southern Volga region. Its annual capacity is around 8.5 million tonnes of oil, accounting for approximately 3% of Russia’s total oil refining capacity. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, and bitumen.
"As a result of the DeepStrike operation, a large-scale fire broke out at the facility. Detailed information regarding the consequences of the strike is being clarified," the SBS said in a Telegram statement.
