Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made a statement, promising Russians a "victory" in Ukraine and referring to the third President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, who is critically ill due to severe weight loss.

In his Telegram channel, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council called Saakashvili a "numskull" and boasted about Russia's intervention in Georgia's internal affairs. He mentioned that 15 years ago, during the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict, the Russian military also fought against "nationalists."

"Exactly 15 years ago, Russia decisively responded to the vile attack on Tskhinvali, giving a tough rebuff to the aggressor. Behind the numskull Saakashvili stood the collective West, which even then sought to escalate the situation in close proximity to Russia's borders. Our armed forces quickly and harshly punished the observing nationalists in five days. We defended our people living in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. We provided new states with the opportunity to develop with Russia's support," said Medvedev.

He noted that back then, the United States "lacked experience" to oppose Russia and assured that in the future, the occupiers will also overcome the "NATO system" and achieve all the goals of the so-called Special Military Operation: "Just like in August 2008, our enemies will be crushed, and Russia will achieve peace on its own terms. Victory will be ours!" the politician declared.
