On July 24 in Guangzhou, PRC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi.

The meeting of the foreign ministers of Ukraine and China was a continuation of contacts between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

The main topic of discussion was finding ways to end Russian aggression and the possible role of China in achieving a sustainable and just peace.

"I am convinced that a just peace in Ukraine aligns with China's strategic interests, and China's role as a global force for peace is important," Dmytro Kuleba said during the meeting with his Chinese counterpart.

Minister Kuleba emphasized that

"Russian aggression has destroyed peace and hindered development, and every new day of war brings new violations of humanity and further erosion of justice. Therefore, it is necessary to end the war against Ukraine, restore peace, and accelerate the recovery of our state."

The minister specifically informed his colleague about the results of the Peace Summit in Switzerland and explained the logic of further steps in implementing the Peace Formula as a path to the just end of Russian aggression.

Dmytro Kuleba conveyed Ukraine's consistent position, which is readiness to engage in a negotiation process with the Russian side at a certain stage when Russia is ready to negotiate in good faith. However, he emphasized that currently, there is no such readiness observed from the Russian side.

During the talks, the parties also exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations, as well as the international agenda.

Dmytro Kuleba recalled that Ukraine recently started negotiations on joining the European Union, and this decision is irreversible.

"I propose today to discuss our bilateral relations, particularly through the lens of Ukraine's future EU membership and China's relations with Europe," said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.

The head of the Ukrainian MFA stressed that

"Russian aggression stands not only in the way of Ukraine's development. It also stands in the way of international stability, the development of good-neighborly relations, and in particular, the development of trade between China and Europe."
