DTEK is ready to assist Moldova in ensuring its energy stability, as stated by its CEO, Maksym Timchenko, following a meeting with Moldova’s Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“We are grateful to the Republic of Moldova for providing comprehensive support to our country during the war. Now, as Moldova faces a number of energy challenges, DTEK is ready to help ensure the stability of its energy sector. We look forward to further collaboration in this area,” Timchenko wrote on Platform X.

He also reported on a meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković at WEF-25, where they discussed DTEK’s role in the development of renewable energy in Croatia.

“Through our subsidiary, DRI, DTEK is actively contributing to Croatia's energy transition through our portfolio of two wind and solar projects, with another soon to be announced. I look forward to exploring potential collaborations to support the energy transition, aligned with the European Green Deal,” the DTEK CEO noted.

In June 2024, DRI (DTEK Renewables International, DTEK’s European renewable energy arm) announced the construction of its first projects in Croatia: a 127.5 MW wind farm and a 400/110 kV substation designed to connect renewable energy projects. Both projects are located in southern Croatia, near Split in Dalmatia, marking the first step in DRI’s ambitious plans to develop a portfolio of wind and solar projects with a total capacity of up to 500 MW in the country by 2028, as well as to invest in substations and energy storage facilities.

The total portfolio of DRI’s renewable energy projects across its priority markets, both operational and at various stages of development and construction, amounts to 1.4 GW.

DTEK has also consistently expressed its intention to develop renewable energy projects in Romania, Italy, Croatia, and Poland.
