Major rehabilitation works are underway on the M-09 Ternopil–Lviv–Rava-Ruska (towards Lublin) national road, on the section from Lviv to the Rava-Ruska border crossing with Poland.
The works are being carried out within the framework of the project "Development of the Trans-European Transport Network (Ukraine – Road Corridors)," with financial support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The total cost of the project exceeds €100 million.
Construction began in April 2025 and covers two road sections with a combined length of more than 62 km.
"Despite all the challenges caused by the war, we continue implementing strategic infrastructure projects. The rehabilitation of the M-09 road is an investment in safe and modern transport connectivity with the European Union. This route is one of the key corridors for transporting people and goods to the Polish border, so its modernization strengthens Ukraine’s logistics capabilities, supports the economy, and brings our transport system closer to European standards," said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development.

On one of the sections, construction readiness has already reached almost 50%, including the installation of the required road surface layers.
Work is also actively underway on six bridge structures. Their completion levels range from 53% to 85%, and one bridge has already been fully completed.
On another section, more than 40% of the work has been completed. Reconstruction of seven artificial structures is being carried out in parallel. Six of them are 80–90% complete, while another is 45% complete. Three bridge structures have already been fully completed.
The route is an important component of the international transport corridor to Lublin and the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). Its modernization will contribute to the development of international logistics, increased transport capacity, and stronger integration of Ukraine’s transport system with the European Union.
