As of the morning of January 15, night-time Russian strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure left consumers without power in Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on Thursday.
According to the ministry, the most difficult energy situation remains in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
“In the capital region, network restrictions are in place, so previously implemented hourly blackout schedules are temporarily not applied,” the Ministry of Energy said.
Return to the planned schedules will occur after the energy system stabilizes. Restoration work in Kyiv and Kyiv region is ongoing around the clock, despite severe weather conditions.
As in previous weeks, network restrictions remain in Odessa region, where emergency repair work continues after previous Russian attacks.
Additionally, due to bad weather, seven settlements in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions remain without power. Utility repair crews are working to restore damaged lines.
“Long-term power outages due to hostilities continue in frontline and border regions. The situation there is the most difficult, as restoring electricity is complicated by ongoing combat operations,” the ministry emphasized.
