In Kyiv, three rescuers from the State Emergency Service were killed and nine others were injured while responding to the aftermath of enemy strikes.
This was reported on Telegram by Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
"Last night, missiles and drones deliberately targeted civilian and critical infrastructure. Emergency services—the State Emergency Service and police—responded to every call for help. Unfortunately, we again have losses in the Ministry of Internal Affairs family," Klymenko stated.
He said that the three State Emergency Service rescuers who died in Kyiv were working under fire to help people. Nine other rescuers were wounded, with some in serious condition; doctors are fighting for their lives.
Additionally, five rescuers were injured while extinguishing fires in the Ternopil region. All are receiving medical care.
"A deep bow to our fallen heroes without weapons. Brave, loyal to their oath, devoted to rescue. Wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded," Klymenko emphasized.
Overall, across Ukraine last night, three people were killed and about 40 others were injured as a result of the Russian attack.
