In the new package of military aid totaling 500 million euros, Germany will supply Ukraine with a large quantity of missiles for the Iris-T air defense systems and a lot of other valuable equipment and weapons.
Yesterday, on Thursday, May 30, in Odessa, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius met with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov. Due to security considerations, the visit of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to Odessa remained secret until the end of the event.
"Russia has always wanted to seize the Ukrainian maritime fortress. It didn't work out then, it will never work out. Our joint visit with the German Defense Minister to Odessa is aimed, among other things, at this. Unable to capture Odessa by land or sea, they resort to terrorist attacks with missiles and drones from the air. Grateful to Germany for the assistance it provides," emphasized Rustem Umerov.
In the next package of military aid, Germany will provide Ukraine with a large quantity of missiles for the Iris-T air defense systems, reconnaissance and combat drones to protect Ukraine in the Black Sea, spare parts for artillery systems supplied by Germany, spare engines for Leopard tanks, and ammunition for small arms.
As Boris Pistorius noted, some of the weapons are already ready for shipment. In addition, starting from 2025, the delivery of 18 of the latest self-propelled howitzers RCH-155 will also begin. Moreover, Germany will finance training courses for Ukrainian technicians.
