At the Ukrainian House in Washington, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Ukrainian community and war veteran Andriy Smolensky, who is undergoing treatment in the US.

The President thanked them for their support during these difficult times, acknowledging all efforts for Ukraine and Ukrainians, not only in diplomacy and finance, but also politically and in prayer.

"It is very important for us that Ukraine is heard and that no one forgets about it during or after the war. Thank you for representing our state and our interests so honorably in the United States. It is crucial for people in Ukraine to know they are not alone, that their interests are represented in every country, in every corner of the world," President Zelensky emphasized.

During the meeting, discussions focused on US support for Ukraine, the unwavering solidarity of the American people throughout the three years of full-scale Russian invasion, unity with European partners, the role of the Ukrainian diaspora in supporting our state, and efforts to return Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia.

Also present was Andriy Smolensky, the former commander of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura" aerial reconnaissance group, who is undergoing treatment in the US after suffering severe injuries on the frontlines. He shared that he is not only receiving care but also helping other wounded soldiers.

"You are a hero. Heroes like you are an inspiration. I thank you for preserving our independent Ukraine, for keeping our nation, our people, our unity — these are very important things," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
