A ship has departed from Ukraine carrying 3,847.9 tons of corn to Mozambique and 19,179.6 tons to Malawi. The cargo will first be transported by sea to Mozambique and then by land to Malawi. Upon arrival, the corn, along with other products, will be used by the World Food Programme (WFP) to distribute to socially vulnerable groups in the local population. Ukrainian corn will help the WFP provide food for approximately 200,000 people in Mozambique and 900,000 people in Malawi over the next three months.

This shipment was made possible thanks to generous donations from Sweden, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, and Portugal.

Representatives from Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the World Food Programme, and the French Embassy inspected the start of the ship's loading at a Black Sea port. According to Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Markian Dmytrasevych, Ukraine is grateful to the donor countries for their support of the "Grain from Ukraine" programme, initiated by President Zelensky.

"We are all doing great work together, and we need to continue this in the coming years. We are thankful to our Armed Forces for ensuring that the security situation in the Black Sea allows us to jointly carry out this work for the people of countries that truly need it. We sincerely appreciate the French government, the WFP, and the donor countries such as Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Italy for co-financing this grain and contributing to our significant joint effort," emphasized Markian Dmytrasevych.
