A new elevator 'Viking-South' of the 'Zolotyi Vrozhai' company has started operating in the Odessa region. Its capacity is 105,000 tons of simultaneous storage.
This was reported by the company's press service to Latifundist.com.
The complex is located 17 km from the Odessa port, near the M-05 highway and the Lisky railway station. Its total storage capacity is 105,000 tons. It can accept up to 8,000 tons of grain per day from trucks and rail (up to 55 wagons per day).
The facility is equipped with 14 PRADO silos (Spain), AGI equipment (Italy), and Bühler cleaning systems (Switzerland). There is a certified laboratory for quality control of major export crops—wheat, corn, soy, rapeseed, barley, and others.
The complex is equipped with a cogeneration unit with a capacity of 1.5 MW to increase energy efficiency.
The second phase of the elevator was completed this year, after which it began operations.
The company decided to build the elevator because "the Odessa port lacked storage capacity for agricultural products, and the market needed additional capacity—an alternative to storage at the port."
In addition to storage, the facility performs logistical functions: transloading goods, delivery to ports, fertilizer packaging, and container preparation for export. The enterprise plans to reach full capacity in 2025.
