The large European company Calmit GmbH, specializing in the production of lime and building materials, intends to build a plant in Zakarpattia region.
This was reported by Myroslav Biletskyi, Head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration and Military Administration.
The topic was discussed during a meeting with Peter Vanish, the company’s responsible representative for implementing the project in Ukraine.
Calmit GmbH has subsidiaries across Europe, and soon one more may be built in the Batovo community in Zakarpattia.
Biletskyi said that the company representatives inspected the potential site for the plant. Batovo meets the customers’ requirements: proximity to the border, the possibility to connect to both broad and narrow-gauge railways, and the future potential to establish logistics for raw materials and finished products.
However, to launch the project, all technical conditions still need to be analyzed, but negotiations are already underway with the company’s founders and its representatives in Ukraine.
“The construction industry in Ukraine will actively develop in the coming decades, so the necessary products will be in demand on the market,” Biletskyi noted.
