A project of a museum of the Ukrainian Navy to be realised on a real warship. This plan was announced by the "Ukrainian Military Portal" of the Ministry of Defence.

The ship for this project is the corvette "Vinnitsa", which was recently officially decommissioned and withdrawn from the combat strength of the Ukrainian Navy. For more than 13 years, the ship has not gone to sea and has been docked at the Odessa shipyard.

The details of the project and the parking lot are still unknown.

The corvette was accepted into the shipyard of the coastal troops of the KGB of the USSR back in 1976 with the name "Dnepr". In 1992 he was transferred to the State Committee for the Protection of the Maritime Borders of Ukraine and, in 1996, to the Naval Forces of Ukraine under the name "Vinnitsa" and hull number U206.

From 1996 to 2007 he took part in all international exercises with NATO ships. On November 11, 2007, the corvette received serious damage to the hull near the stem during a storm in the Sevastopol Bay. Since then it did not take part in combat training anymore.

On March 22, 2014, when the ship was in Sevastopol, it was captured by the Russian invaders. On April 19, he was towed to Odessa.

In September 2017, the corvette was delivered to dock No. 4 of the shipyard Ukraine Shipyard. In the summer of 2018, leaving the dock, he again took his place in the iron row of the Western naval base of the fleet.

At the moment, the "Vinnitsa" is in Ochakov and can no longer move on water without the help of other boats. Once the ship will be returned to Odessa again, they will start working on the new museum.

The vessel is 71 meters long and 10 meters wide. The "Vinnitsa" can reach speeds of up to 35 knots. It is armed with two paired 57-mm AN-725 artillery mounts, a pair of RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launchers, and two paired 533-mm anti-submarine torpedo tubes.
