Agricultural and food exports from Ukraine increased by 5% to $12.451 billion in January-June 2024 compared to the previous year. The main markets remain the European Union, Asia, and Africa.

According to the National Scientific Center Institute of Agrarian Economics, the share of agricultural and food exports in Ukraine's total exports for the first six months of 2024 was 64%.

There is an increase in exports to the EU, which has been the main market for three consecutive years, as well as to Africa, while food exports to Asia are decreasing.

EU countries purchased over 50% of Ukrainian food, amounting to $6.285 billion, a 4% increase from the same period last year.

Asian countries purchased $3.909 billion worth of goods, a 9% decrease from the same period in 2023, making up 31% of the total.

Exports to African countries totaled $1.475 billion, a 1.7-fold increase from the previous year, representing 12% of total agricultural exports.

Top Importing Countries:

  1. Spain: $1.518 billion (12% share)
  2. China: $946 million (8% share)
  3. Turkey: $926 million (7% share)
  4. Egypt: $910 million
  5. Netherlands: $831 million
  6. Poland: $733 million
  7. Italy: $632 million
  8. Romania: $582 million
  9. Germany: $471 million
  10. India: $351 million

Key Product Groups in Agricultural Exports:

  • Grains: $5.264 billion
  • Oils and fats: $3.079 billion
  • Oilseeds: $1.061 billion
  • Residues and waste from the food industry: $821 million
  • Meat and by-products: $505 million

These groups together accounted for 86% of revenue from sales in global markets.
