An explosion occurred in the sea near the resort village of Costinesti in Romania on the morning of Monday, August 14.
According to Digi24, a sea mine struck a pier and exploded, as reported by local authorities. There are no significant damages as a result of the explosion, but another mine may be floating in the sea. The explosion happened approximately 300 meters from the beach, where many tourists were present at the time.
A man suffered from the explosion, complaining of hearing damage, but he refused hospitalization.
The Naval Forces of Romania have prepared a team of diver-sappers, who, along with coastal guards, are heading to the specified area to assess the situation and neutralize the second mine if it is detected.
