The intensity of combat operations in southern Ukraine has sharply increased. In February, Russian forces engaged in 118 combat clashes, while in March, they conducted 368.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, during a TV marathon.
"In order to say whether the enemy is increasing or decreasing the intensity of combat operations, it needs to be compared to something. In March, the enemy conducted 368 combat clashes in the south, compared to 118 in February. So the number of clashes tripled," Voloshyn explained.
Additionally, according to him, there was an increase in the number of kamikaze drone strikes, as well as a rise in artillery and multiple rocket launcher (MRL) shelling.
"In February, there were on average 260-300 artillery shellings, while in March it increased to 350-370. Regarding kamikaze drones, there were 380-400 in February, and in March, it reached up to 450, with some days seeing at least 500 drones targeting our positions and settlements near the front line," the spokesperson noted.
Voloshyn emphasized that the intensity of combat operations in the south is on the rise, and this can clearly be confirmed when summarizing the situation.
At the same time, he pointed out that Russian forces are accumulating forces and resources for assault actions, but "this is not part of a strategic offensive, it's small infantry assault groups to improve tactical positions."
