As part of a $20 million military aid package to Ukraine, Australia is sending a metal 3D printer and drone defense systems. The West Australian reports this.

The military aid package includes demining equipment, portable X-ray machines, a metal 3D printer, and drone defense systems developed by Australian companies DroneShield, Micro-X, Minelab, and SPEE3D.

Additionally, the Australian government stated that a Royal Australian Air Force E-7A Wedgetail aircraft has been dispatched to Germany to support the delivery of international humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine.

"Australia remains steadfast in supporting Ukraine to defend itself against Russia's illegal and immoral invasion. This contribution will provide Ukraine with some of the best capabilities in the world, while investing in Australia's sovereign defence industry and technology sector," said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Australia's Minister for Defense Industry, Pat Conroy, thanked Australian companies for their assistance in providing aid to Ukraine.

He noted that metal 3D printers can be used to print spare parts and demining equipment, and portable X-ray machines can provide crucial assistance to Ukrainian military personnel on the battlefield.
