The area west of Avdiivka remains the focal point of the Russian army's advance, which captured Avdiivka on February 17 and has since moved approximately 6 km from the city center.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom on Twitter.

According to the summary, Russia has almost certainly taken control of several villages in this area: Lastochkyne, Stepove, and Severne.

According to British intelligence, these tactical gains primarily serve to consolidate Russian positions around Avdiivka.

"Russia also likely seeks to build momentum on this axis, taking advantage of the fact that there are fewer fixed, well-defended positions and urban areas from which Ukrainian forces can defend," the Ministry of Defense of Britain noted.
