More than 45% of officers in the Russian Armed Forces serving in reserve units of the Southern Military District have no legal grounds to be stationed in the rear.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

“Documents signed by Lieutenant General Mikhail Zusko, Chief of Staff of the Southern Military District, reveal unjustified transfers of over 900 officers to rear units. At least 200 of them were assigned despite the units already being at full staff,” the intelligence report states.

Moreover, there are recorded cases of these “reservists” abandoning service without authorization.

The report notes that this mass exodus from the front lines—formally framed as transfers to the rear—indicates demoralization and a crisis within the Russian command structure.

"Aware of the scale of losses and the inevitability of their own deaths, officers of the aggressor state are trying by any means to avoid participation in combat operations," the intelligence report states.
