Today, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, visited the Odessa region on a working trip. The Head of the Government, together with the Chief of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Maksym Marchenko, got acquainted with the work of the Izmail and Reni sea trade ports.

"The ports of Izmail and Reni in Odessa are today Ukraine's export gateways to European countries. During the six months of this year, cargo traffic through Ukrainian ports on the Danube River increased by 2.4-5 times compared to last year. Thanks to the liberation of Snake (Zmiiny) Island by the Armed Forces, we got additional opportunities for export and import of products in this area," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister emphasized that even before the full-scale war, the Government developed the Strategy for the Development of Internal Water Transport of Ukraine until 2031. According to him, the development of river ports will help expand export opportunities for Ukrainian products, in particular grain.

During his working visit, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has become personally familiar with the activities of the Danube Agrarian enterprise. The company specializes in growing organic vegetables, fruits, cereals and animal products.

The Prime Minister told about the Government’s program eRobota, which, among other things, is designed to provide non-refundable financial assistance for the development of processing and the creation of new gardens and greenhouses.

"eRobota program is part of our new economic policy aimed at supporting domestic manufacturers and the processing industry. We want enable Ukrainian enterprises to create new jobs, increase production and generate added value here in Ukraine. When we were devising the program, we focused on such gardens and farms," noted Denys Shmyhal.

The Director of Danube Agrarian LLC told the Prime Minister that he had already submitted applications for grants for a garden and a greenhouse. The company representatives also informed that they had employed internally displaced persons and receive reimbursement from the state in the amount of UAH 6.5 thousand to cover their wages.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government would accompany and monitor the further organization of such projects. He assured that the Cabinet of Ministers would further support and develop such government initiatives.
