During the night of June 5, 2024, the Russian forces attacked with 27 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs from the areas of Kursk, Russia, and Cape Chauda, Crimea.
This was reported on Telegram by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Air Forces.
As a result of the air battle, 22 Shaheds were shot down over the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Poltava regions.
Anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare systems of the Air Forces, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, were involved in repelling the enemy's air attack.
