President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that he has severed contacts with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the conflict in Gaza. As reported by Anadolu.

"We have now excluded him. I will make a decision on this issue during discussions at the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. However, it is impossible to completely sever ties, especially in international diplomacy," Erdogan said.

According to the Turkish leader, Netanyahu's actions "do not conform to the precepts he mentions."

"Netanyahu is the one who provoked the reaction of the Israeli people and lost the support of his citizens. He wants to secure support through his mass atrocities, quoting the Torah, and using religious terms. What this person is doing is purely a PR campaign and a populist approach," Erdogan believes.

The President of Turkey stated that Ankara will support initiatives that will enable the transfer of cases related to "human rights violations and war crimes by Israel" to the International Criminal Court.

Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel in protest against the "ongoing bombings of the besieged Gaza Strip," as announced by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.

"Greece can be a guarantor country in Cyprus, the United Kingdom can also be a guarantor country, so why can't Turkey become a guarantor country, why not create a similar structure in Gaza? So, we can take on the role of a guarantor country," Erdogan stated.

The Turkish leader emphasized that Ankara should take a leading role in becoming a guarantor in the Gaza sector, adding that "this will be a development that shapes history, the present, and the future."

"All of Turkey's efforts are aimed at peace in the Gaza sector and Palestine, where people should no longer lose their lives and leave their homes," emphasized Erdogan.

The President of Turkey also mentioned the importance of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia with the aim of resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and initiatives aimed at a ceasefire.
