Such service is already provided between Constanta and Reni.

Feeder container transportation, which has been carried out since the end of last year between the Romanian port of Constanta and the Ukrainian port of Reni, is planned to be extended to the port of Izmail in March.

The company Iteris, which acted as the operator of the container feeder, told CTS about this.

The company clarified that both services (on Reni and Izmail) would work in parallel. The first ship call to Izmail is planned for the first week of March. The service will be open for receiving containers of Arkas, ZIM, Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, and МА lines.

The schedule of ship calls involves arriving at each port on average once a week - the round trip is about 6-8 days (one way about 3-4 days). Containers will be accepted on the nearest available vessel. It is noted that the containers follow the transshipment mode; that is, there is no need to issue transit customs documents in the port of Constanta.

In response to CTC's clarifying questions, the company informed that containers in the port of Reni are transshipped at the Viking Alliance terminal, the opening of which took place in December 2022. On average, once a week, the terminal receives at least 150 containers for import and 400 containers for export. In some places, the indicators exceed 200 and 550, respectively.

As for the port of Izmail, transshipment will be carried out through the Izmail MTP. As for the operator, negotiations are taking place at this stage.
