The commander of the Ground Forces once again visited the units defending this direction.

On Sunday, March 5, the commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksander Syrsky, visited the units defending Bakhmut and the approaches to the city.

According to the Military Media Center, according to him, the battles for Bakhmut have reached the highest level of tension.

"The enemy threw additional forces of Wagner into battle. Our soldiers courageously defend positions in the north of Bakhmut, trying to prevent the city's encirclement," Syrsky said.

The general noted that Ukrainian resistance in this bridgehead has been going on for several months. All this time, the enemy's attempts to capture the city were shattered by the steadfastness of our soldiers. Bakhmut's defenders inflicted significant losses on the enemy, destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced the best Wagner assault units to be thrown into battle and reduced the offensive potential of the enemy.
