This year, the production capabilities of domestic defense industry enterprises may reach $35 billion, according to Minister for Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, during the presentation of the new brand of Ukraine's defense industry, ZBROYA.

"In 2022, when we faced the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country, the figure was $1 billion. In 2023, this figure tripled, and last year it reached $9 billion, in addition to $1.5 billion in foreign investments attracted to our defense industry. In reality, Ukrainian enterprises were capable of producing defense products worth about $20 billion last year," Smetanin said.

President’s Strategic Issues Advisor, Oleksandr Kamyshin, emphasized that

"During the Soviet era, defense products produced by Ukrainian defense industry enterprises accounted for 18% of the total output of the Soviet "military-industrial complex."

In monetary terms, this amounted to about $25 billion.

According to Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Anna Hvozdyar, more than 700 enterprises of various forms of ownership currently work and produce weapons and military equipment in Ukraine’s defense industry.
