Ukraine is negotiating with European transmission system operators to increase the import capacity for electricity from 1.7 GW to 2.2 GW. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk during the United News marathon.

"Currently, it is technically possible to import 1.7 GW. Negotiations are underway to increase this figure to 2.2 GW of installed capacity," Kolisnyk said.

He noted that energy workers are now focused on conducting a repair campaign to restore the generating capacities that can be recovered.

Kolisnyk also urged consumers to use electricity sparingly.

"Due to the heat, consumption is increasing, especially during peak load hours. This is noticeable," the deputy minister said.

He emphasized that the economical use of electricity helps energy workers balance the energy system and reduce the duration of outages.
