President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with UNITED24 fundraising platform ambassador, Yale University history professor Timothy Snyder.
The head of state acknowledged the ambassador's efforts in raising funds for the "Safe Land" and "Safe Sky" programmes. Thanks to Timothy Snyder, $3.8 million has been raised. The most active collections with his support have been for drones and the anti-enemy drone system "Shahed Hunter."
"Thank you for your work on the UNITED24 platform. You’re our record-breaker — thanks to you, we’ve achieved record collections, and this is very important. It helps a lot. You've contributed in various areas. You know that not all ambassadors took on the military direction, and I'm very grateful that you were not afraid to do so," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
Timothy Snyder noted that he wants to contribute to the just struggle of Ukrainians.
"This is a small thing. For me as a person, it’s very important: I can think that I am doing something for Ukraine. There are few moments in life where what is right is as clear as it is now," he said.
The historian presented Volodymyr Zelensky with the first copy of his book "On Freedom," signed by the author. The book is based on conversations with the President of Ukraine. The book launch will take place in a week.
