The wide-scale invasion of Russia has significantly impacted the safety of the civilian population, agriculture, industry, and socio-economic growth in affected regions.
“These risks negatively affect the lives of more than 6 million Ukrainians,” stated Colonel Ruslan Berehulya, Head of the Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, at a thematic forum during the Seсurity 2.0 exhibition.
He presented the current situation, achievements, and outlined the upcoming steps to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian demining efforts in Ukraine.
Colonel Berehulya also thanked Ukraine's international partners for their support and assistance:
“Thanks to our joint efforts, we will free our land from explosive hazards meter by meter and create powerful tools to achieve humanitarian goals in mine action.”
Such collaboration in regions affected by aggression will create a safe environment, enable the return of internally displaced persons, and restore economic development.
