"The Bologna Children's Book Fair is deeply committed to building bridges between countries and cultures, pursuing a singular, important goal—to contribute to the improvement of the quality of children's illustration and literature, while also providing space for dialogue and the exchange of experiences. We remain true to these principles for over 60 years of our existence. Therefore, this year, the Bologna Book Fair once again reaffirms its readiness to welcome the individual participation of independent publishers, writers, and artists from all countries and regions of the world who wish to creatively, peacefully, and purposefully contribute to the large publishing community, uniting children and books," as stated on the award's website.
A total of 3,520 works from 3,520 artists from 81 countries were submitted for the 58th illustrators' exhibition. Among the finalists of the award are 346 illustrators, including four Ukrainian artists.
