According to the Ministry of Finance, from January to June 2024, expenditures from the general fund of the state budget for the security and defense sector totaled 888.4 billion UAH, which constitutes 57.5% of all general fund expenditures.
The funds were allocated to:
- Salary payments for military personnel, officers, and police officers.
- Procurement of military and special equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense-related products, personal protective equipment (helmets, bulletproof vests, and other special gear), fuel and lubricants, and food supplies.
- Medical support.
- Other expenses necessary for the operation of relevant bodies and formations.
In June alone, 155.6 billion UAH was spent from the state budget on the security and defense sector.
The Ministry encourages supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine by diligently paying taxes and investing in military bonds.
