FOR FREEDOM: a project by the R.T. Weatherman Foundation and the War Museum about all the foreign fighters who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On February 27, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to foreign citizens to join the International Legion and fight alongside Ukrainians. Since then, for three years, foreigners have been arriving in Ukraine to answer the call and fight FOR FREEDOM.

The FOR FREEDOM project is dedicated to foreign volunteers who joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces to protect freedom and the values of the democratic world. The project sequentially uncovers the phenomenon of international support for Ukraine: from armed and humanitarian aid from various countries to the personal choice of a foreign volunteer to become a fighter in the Ukrainian army.

This exhibition is about freedom. About what motivates and inspires someone to leave their family and home thousands of kilometers away from the front line to defend the core value of the free world. The soldiers' stories featured in the exhibition will introduce visitors to those who stand alongside Ukrainians in the fight to preserve Ukrainian identity.

Exhibition opening – February 28
Location – War Museum, 27 Lavrska St. (Motherland Monument sculpture)
