In the area of responsibility of the operational-tactical group Kharkiv, Russian troops are increasingly using tactical aviation and dropping more guided aerial bombs.
This was stated by the spokesman for the operational-tactical group Kharkiv, Vitaliy Sarantsev, during a television broadcast.
"If we compare it to the previous period, particularly a few weeks ago, we are indeed observing an increase in the activity of the enemy's tactical aviation. They are now conducting airstrikes more frequently and have increased the use of guided aerial bombs (GABs)," said Sarantsev.
In his opinion, this is primarily due to the fact that the Russian army suffered a "significant defeat," losing the aggregate plant in Vovchansk, and is now trying to divert attention by striking civilian objects and infrastructure, portraying it as "major tactical victories" in the destruction of "logistics facilities of the Defense Forces" or "headquarters with mercenaries."
He noted that the operational situation in the area of responsibility of the OTG Kharkiv remains consistently difficult. The main focus of hostilities remains in Vovchansk and the surrounding populated areas, including Starytsia and Tykhe.
"Yesterday, there were six combat engagements. This morning, one combat engagement has been ongoing. The enemy is attempting to advance from the settlement of Hatyshche towards Vovchansk, trying to move towards the positions of the Defense Forces; however, all their actions have been detected in advance, and they have been subjected to fire damage using artillery and FPV drones. As of today, the Defense Forces have not allowed any loss of positions," Sarantsev stated.
