During the massive shelling of Ukraine on April 11, Russian forces deployed more than 80 drones and missiles, including Kinzhals. The main drone strikes were concentrated in the Lviv region.
This information was reported on Telegram by the Commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.
"On the night of April 11, 2024, Russian forces launched a combined missile attack using various types of missiles and strike UAVs. The main direction of the attack was the Lviv region," he said.
Overall, according to him, Russia used 82 means of aerial attack:
• 20 cruise missiles X-101/X-555 from strategic aircraft Tu-95MS (launch area - Saratov region, Russia);
• 6 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 Kinzhal from MiG-31K fighters (launch area - Tambov region, Russia);
• 12 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300 (launches from Belgorod region, Russia);
• 40 strike UAVs of Shahed-131/136 type (from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia, and Chauda, Crimea).
• 4 guided aviation missiles X-59 (from the airspace of the occupied Zaporizhzhia region). Fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force, mobile firing groups, and radio-electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were engaged in repelling the aerial attack.
As a result of the air battle, 57 aerial targets were destroyed:
• 16 cruise missiles X-101/X-555;
• 39 strike UAVs of Shahed-131/136 type;
• 2 guided aviation missiles X-59.
