On the night of January 24 (from 18:00 on January 23), the Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine using missiles of various types launched from air and ground platforms, as well as attack UAVs. In total, Air Force radar units detected 396 aerial attack assets:
- 2 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles (launch area:occupied Crimea);
- 12 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles (from the airspace over Russia’s Bryansk region);
- 6 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles (launch areas: Bryansk region of Russia, occupied Crimea);
- 1 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missile (from the airspace over Russia’s Kursk region);
- 375 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Bryansk (Russia), occupied Donetsk; about 250 of them were Shahed drones.

The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region. A key feature was the use of strategic aviation aircraft armed with Kh-22/Kh-32 missiles to strike Ukraine’s capital.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 372 targets — 15 missiles and 357 drones of various types:
- 9 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles;
- 5 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles;
- 1 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missile;
- 357 attack UAVs of various types.
Two missiles and 18 attack UAVs hit 17 locations, while debris from downed UAVs fell at 12 locations. Information regarding four missiles is being clarified.
