Russian forces brutally killed a Ukrainian soldier in the Donetsk region by beheading him.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, on Twitter.
According to him, Ukraine received information that Russian commanders ordered their soldiers not to take Ukrainian military personnel prisoner but instead to kill them by beheading.
"The fact of the beheading of a Ukrainian defender has been recorded in the Donetsk region," Kostin added.
He emphasized that this is further evidence that the war crimes committed by the Russians are not isolated incidents but a strategy of the Russian regime.
"This horrific barbarism has no place in the 21st century. It is yet another proof that the war crimes committed by the aggressor are not isolated incidents but a planned strategy of the Russian regime. These criminal orders were given at the battalion and company levels of the occupying forces," Kostin added.
The Prosecutor General urged that such cases must not go unpunished.
