The Russian Federation troops will launch another major offensive against Ukraine, for which they are carefully preparing reserves. In the meantime, activity in Belarus can act as a distraction since the Armed Forces of Ukraine should keep a sufficient number of forces near the northern border.
This was stated by Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Aleksey Arestovich on the air of Feygin Live.
The official noted that at present, the invaders are trying to exhaust the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with endless assaults of their mercenaries gathered in prisons, and the Russian Federation plans to "strike us to seize the strategic initiative."
"Reserves can be accumulated in January-February. These are really combat-ready restored units. Belarus is now a distraction for us. There is an active information operation and the movement of a minimum number of troops near the northern borders of Ukraine," Arestovich said.
Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot transfer a sufficient number of troops to other directions, as they are forced to cover the state border with Belarus, keeping certain forces there.
At the same time, Arestovich notes that the Kremlin's dreams of a second big offensive may remain unfulfilled plans, although "this may be quite unpleasant for us."
The adviser also added that the military-political leadership is aware of such plans of the enemy and is taking measures to disrupt them.
